I just wanted to congratulate ALL the 7 Democratic candidates who participated in the first ever presidential debate broadcast in Spanish this Sunday September 9, 2007 in Univision. Although I do not have an official affiliation to the Democratic Party, your participation in this event clearly show me and many Hispanic voters that there is a willingness on your party and on every one of you, to approach OUR community, and ours issues. As a political enthusiast, I am following, as much as I can, every one of the candidates in both parties. And this kind of events and sites like MyGrito.com clearly are providing the bridge/channel to learn about all of you and to know where everyone of you is standing in regards of important issues as immigration, education, health care, foreign policy, social security, and many other topics. I am an American citizen since 2003, and living in this country for the last 7 years of my life. I am looking forward to learn more about you ALL and I hope that this political debate be the starting point of an open dialog among Hispanics and candidates, and in general a permanent dialog among citizens and representatives.

Henry,  I am interested in your back ground.  You say you do not have affiliation to the Democratic Party, yet you are glad that the Democrats are reaching out to the Hispanic community.  Are you of Mexican descent?  The reason I ask is because that the Domocratic Party of today is Like the Socialist Party of the Mexican Govt.  We are well aware of how well that system works.  In fact, ALL the Mexicans I know that are here, did not come here for the great Socialist ideals.  They are here to work and make money!  To be business owners, not to have their hands out waiting for the Gov. to give them something.

Welcome to my country.  Please become familiar with the very laws that allowed you to become a citizen,( The Constitution and ammendments).  Also read this book, "The Federalists".  You will learn more about your new country and its founders.  Also, this country was founded by people who understood that God is the creater and King of all.    I hope you become a productive citizen, if you are not already, and defend this country with you heart and soul.  By the way I am a hispanic of Mexican descent.  Good luck.
